Welcome to Washington Elementary School!

News/Happenings      

Our school serves about 250 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. We have 50 staff members who are always willing and eager to work with your children. We believe that all students are capable of achieving at high levels when an environment is created to meet the individual needs of all students. It is critical that we function as an educational team; together we can achieve great things for our students.

Washington Elementary made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the 2008-2009 school year! We will continue to focus on our goals in order to continue to make AYP for the 2009-2010 school year:

     All students will improve in written language skills
     (Focus on organization, idea development, and conventions)
     All students will improve in mathematics
     (Focus on measurement, geometry, and data analysis/probability)
     All students will improve in reading comprehension
     (Focus on inferences, summarizing, and synthesizing information)

Our staff and parent community at Washington are what make this place so special. Our staff is student - centered, caring and committed to the success of all students. The staff, students, and parent community at Washington Elementary School work together to provide the best possible education that prepares our students for the future.

As principal of Washington Elementary, I will work collaboratively with the staff, parents, and community to continue a focus on providing our students with the best education possible. Please don't hesitate to stop by and visit with me. I have an open door policy and we invite you to visit our wonderful school. We enjoy meeting all of our families.
