Class News It is hard to believe, but we are already into October. Our class is settling into a routine now, and we are busy learning lots of new skills and ideas. In October we started the Pizza Hut Book It reading program. Please read with your child and keep track on the calendar that was sent home so that your child can earn free pizza. This month in class our focus will be on : Shapes, Numbers 0—10, Patterns, Autumn, Columbus Day, Fire Safety, Letters and Sounds, and Rhyming Words. We will also be completing many Halloween projects and are excited to be counting down the days until Halloween. Watch for parent sign-up notes that will ask for help with our Fire Station Field Trip and our Halloween Party. Our school district food service has decided to “go green”, so they will no longer be sending lunch menus home. You will now need to go to the district web site to copy a lunch menu. See the link below to access the district site. I am excited to announce that we will have a Kindergarten Math and Reading Family Night. Please plan on attending on Tuesday, October 12th. |

Dates to Remember Tuesday, October 12—Kindergarten Family Math & Reading Night 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 14—Truman McTeacher Night—Make plans to eat at McDonalds to help with our school fundraiser. Friday, Oct. 15 and Monday, Oct 18—No School —Fall Break Wednesday, Oct. 20—Fire Station Field Trip Thursday, Oct 21—Kindergarten Quarterly Testing— Be sure to help your child practice the 1st quarter goals. Friday, Oct 22—Truman PTO Fall Festival Friday, Oct. 29—Class Halloween Parties and Last day of the 1st quarter.
